Teatro Malibran in Venice will stage Alessandro Scarlatti's "Il Trionfo dell'onore" ("The Triumph of Honor"), a baroque comedy exploring the capriciousness of love.
"Il Trionfo dell'onore," which premiered in Naples in 1718, is considered Scarlatti's only true comedy. The plot is typical of romantic comic operas of his time, with its series of misunderstandings and complications.
